The Summer 2023 season playoffs have been an intense and wild ride so far with Championship Saturday this weekend! with multiple games coming down to the wire and being decided by a one goal margin both in the opening round and in last weekends semifinals.

As playoffs kicked off 2 weeks ago the Skyfire taking on San Marcos in a rematch of their game from one week earlier, San Marcos once again pulled out a one goal victory over the Skyfire with a final score of 8-7. In game 2 the North Division top seeded King Cheetahs battled it out with the OC Crush in another one goal game that had the Crush coming out on top 9-8. Closing out the opening round of playoffs defending champion Titans fought hard against former champions the Gamecocks but ultimately fell with a final score of 15-6 as the Gamecocks closed out the weekend with a big statement win heading into the semifinals.

Last weekend's semifinals brought fans some of the biggest matchups of the season as San Marcos and the Gamecocks squared off in the first game followed by the OC Crush and top seeded Los Banditos in the second game. Game 1 started off hot with San Marcos taking an early 6-0 lead over the Gamecocks through the first quarter and half of action. Finally finding their flow, the Gamecocks would come roaring back and eventually take a 10-8 lead late into the 4th quarter until San Marcos finished strong with a late rally and the game winning goal in the final 2 minutes of play to advance. The second game started off quickly with the OC Crush taking an early 3-0 lead late into the first quarter before the Los Banditos found the back of the net. The crush would keep their lead and never look back fighting off a late push in the 4th by the Banditos before the final whistle and the Crush moving with an 11-9 victory.
